On September 1, 2025, AP4PIC, together with Riga Technical University, will launch the ERDF project “Active Polymer Photonic Systems for Integrated Organic-Based Light manipulators and Emitters”.
The project, running from 01.09.2025 to 31.08.2028, is led by Riga Technical University. With a total budget of 650,000 EUR, including 505,050 EUR in ERDF funding, the industrial research project aims to develop technology for the heterogeneous single-chip integration of coherent light sources and light modulators based entirely on polymer photonics. The project focuses on designing and synthesizing light-emitting and nonlinear active organic materials operating in the visible and near-infrared spectral regions; developing fabrication workflows for integrated photonic elements, including on-chip lasers and light modulators that use these molecules as active components; and designing and producing fully integrated polymer-based laser light sources and light modulators that rely solely on polymers and active organic materials.
